The Farnsley Wildcats Varsity Baseball team saw their season come to a close last Thursday after a hard-fought 7-4 loss to the Crosby Cougars at Pleasure Ridge Park High School. The Wildcats finished the season with a strong 6-4 record, showing steady improvement and competitiveness throughout the year. Crosby jumped out to an early lead, stringing together three singles in the first inning, including one from Landon that drove in the opening run. The Cougars extended their advantage in the second inning with a series of walks and another timely single down the right-field line. Farnsley battled back throughout the game, showing resilience at the plate and in the field. Kanin S. started on the mound for the Wildcats, recording three strikeouts while working through a tough Crosby lineup. Offensively, Kanin, Sterling W., Aidan P., Jaxson H., and Braxton P. each collected a hit, while Kanin and Aidan drove in one run apiece. Jaxson showcased great plate discipline with two walks and added two stolen bases to keep the pressure on the Cougars’ defense. The Wildcats demonstrated their defensive strength, playing error-free baseball behind their pitchers. Christien W. led the team with three defensive chances, helping keep the game within reach. Though the loss ended their postseason run, the Wildcats can take pride in a season filled with growth, teamwork, and effort. The future remains bright for this talented group of student-athletes. Great job, Wildcats, on a strong 6-4 season!
